| Access & Security
At Executive Suite Network, we know the security of your site and data is an important issue for you. It is for us as well. Executive Suite Network uses multi-layered security to protect your intranet site, and we are continuously engaged in examining and updating security.
Access to your site by invitation only
Your Executive Suite Network site is protected by passwords, registration, and by a registration code you create. When you decide to invite a new member to use your intranet, the person is sent an email with your registration code in it. He or she must use that code to become a new member and must choose a password and use it to enter your intranet. No one else has access to the content you post on your site.
Designated privileges that you control
As the Site Administrator, YOU control which members can post new information on the site and which members have read-only privileges. And, as needed, you can also appoint trusted members to be Administrators. This control enables you to protect your data at the user level, while we add protection at deeper levels.
Our part in protecting your data
In addition to the password and registration technology we've built into Executive Suite Network Sites, we use a "defense-in-depth" strategy to protect your site, and we follow industry standard best practices in carrying out the strategy.
- All Executive Suite Network sites reside on servers in a professionally managed data center that is physically enclosed, tightly secured and environmentally controlled. Only authorized personnel can enter, and it is guarded on a 24 x 7 basis.
- Each Executive Suite Network site's files are rigorously segregated; there is no intermingling of one site's files with any others on the servers used to host the sites.
- The servers on which Executive Suite Network sites reside are continuously monitored for attempted network attacks on a 24 x 7 basis using sophisticated software tools.
- We back up your data nightly and copies of the back-up tapes are stored both on- and off-site so that your data can be easily restored.
At the end of the day, safe practices mean safe data
Although we provide the technology, security breaches are more often due to human rather than technological error. To help decrease the chance of this error, Executive Suite Network encourages all of our customers to follow good password practices:
- Change your password/registration code frequently.
- Do not write these codes down where they might be found by others.
- Be sure that all codes are unique and are not easy to guess.
